Greece's Leonidas Sampanis originally finished third, but was disqualified after he tested positive for excess testosterone.
Great Britain's Kamran Panjavi had to hurry to take his first lift after arguing with officials about what he could wear. Hurrying onto the stage he made a quick attempt with less than three seconds left but failed and walked off clutching his back. On his return for the second attempt he failed again, this time having to be stretchered off after aggravating the injury.
